I just downloaded the new xbmc (2005-05-30) and it said it had interface sounds, however, it doesn't, someone knows where to get them or what is happening?

first, make sure you have it enabled. Settings=>Appearance=>Navigation Sounds
They are included in the skin. ie. /C/skin/The Orbs/sounds
They come with PMIII now, but if they are missing (.xml too) you can use The Orbs.

I enabled the sounds in the settings menu as stated, but I have never gotten any sounds out of my PMIII. I am using the early may build. I just assumed this was not really working yet. Can anyone confirm that it works.

Looks like mine is set correct in the settings menu but still no sounds. I logged in via ftp and I cannot find any wav files anywhere. Should there be wav files in the skins directory and if so, where? (and why were they not already in the download.

You obviously got a build where they were not included. Get a new build where they are or a skin that has them.

sorry to be so late with this but...

I did download this build form the usual places, and the sounds weren't included, theres the sounds directory but it only contains the xml file, no wavs or anything

what happened?

Sorry, I doubted you. I just d/l the 5-30 build and you're right. Well, I compile my own builds and they are included in there. But you can go to the links I listed abovr and d/l The Orbs Reloaded skin by Kotix. I just did and it contains the sounds you need and they are interchangeable from skin to skin.
