is there a way to empty a soul gem? i have stolen a bunch for the vampire cure quest but guessing she will not except them because some are full. at work have not got a chance to play with it yet but just curious if this is possible.

AFAIK you can't empty them... just go to the mystic emporium in the Imperial City Market District they sell all sizes there.

If you want some empty soul gems for free then you can join a mages guide and there are lots of them laying around in each mage guild. As long as you are a member it's not considered stealing. Although there is one guild that has like an alchemy station that you can't take anything from, I accidently took something when I was trying to talk to someone and was banned from the mages guild for it, so be careful.

[font=Times New Roman] The best way I found to get empty soul gems was the item cloning cheat. I cloned black soul gems with soul level "grand" and every one but the original came up empty. If you dont know the glitch I'm talking about you can find info in these forums or any other oblivion site. Also, this glitch can make a lot of soul gems. I made over 400 at once. The game gets slow and twitchy when you make that many, but if you still hear the music you should be fine.
