In desperate need of help although all might be lost!!

I have an xbox 1.1 with an Xecuter 2 modchip.
I don't know any of the details as I purchased it modded a long long time ago.
The original hard drive was swapped out ages ago for a 120GB

I was trying to swap out the hard drive again and put in a 200GB one.
I tried to flash the bios so that it would detect more than 137GB
I must have used the wrong bios as it all went pear-shapped

It now attempts to boot 3 times and I then get flashing lights (christmas trees?)
The mod chip has an external switch, and when I turn it off - the boot process gets futher but then fails as I suspect the original microsoft dashboard isn't in the correct place on the hard drive.

Have I any options to fix the bios on the modchip?

I have another soft moded xbox if it helps, but I'm no good at soldering so moving the current mod chips isn't an option.

I believe as the box is a 1.1 - even if I manage to soft mod my current chipped xbox - I couldn't use it to reflash the modchip bios?

Any suggestions to move forward would be greatly appreciated..

I haven't but to be completely honest - I wouldn't know how sad.gif

I thought it might be useful to include a couple of photos so that someone might be able to comfirm the modchip. I don't see any switches that allow configuration etc...

Does this help and can you help?

What made you think that was an Xecuter 2 chip........?

It isn't, and you need a second, working chip so you can boot with the second chip, hotswap the current chip, and reflash it with a working BIOS.

Well - I believe its using an Xecuter 2 chip as it used to display "Xecuter 2" in small writing at the bottom of the boot screen. However - I know nothing about modchips (apart from how to flash them incorrectly!!)

I've decided that I have little or no chance of fixed this.
I've managed to get my xbox to boot by disabling the modchip and rebuilding the hard drive using xboxhdmaker (luckily I had an eeprom backup). I've then performed a soft mod, so I am at least back running unsigned code. I do now have to worry about locking the hard drive, but its a significant step forward from Christmas lights!!

Thanks for all comments - its been much appreciated.

well like i said if your in the uk, and feel like getting it reflashed feel free to send it over to me and il reflash it for you..

And it said xecuter 2 at the bottom because it was using that bios..
its not specifically chip related..

However again..
you can tsop flash that xbox without soldering if you get a conductive ink pen.
but if your happy with softmod then your ok as you are.
