After updating my xbox to the latest freeboot I noticed my DVD drive never did work. After buying a new game which wasn't already on my HDD I decided to care to attempt to fix this, thinking I just accidentally flashed an incorrect keyvault. I ran xellous and it wasn't able to get the dvdkey so this seemed likely to be the culprit. After dumping the NAND (I have a 256 BB Jasper but only dumped the first 66MB) I opened it in 360 Flash Tool and saw this:

So I decided to open up my original NAND dump from when the xbox was first JTAG'd and everything was fine:

I extracted the keyvault from the NAND and injected kv_enc.bin (I've heard all about kv_dec.bin but 360 flash tool said ENC only). After saving the NAND everything looked ok so I put UPDFLASH.BIN on my USB and ran xellous. After it finished updated my xbox started to christmas light. I thought maybe the issue was that I used ENC and tried DEC instead. After opening that in 360 flash tool everything looked like it did before I put the enc kv (the first picture I posted). Still no dice, the xbox christmas light'd again.

After flashing my first dump I made before starting this process back on the xbox works just fine. Why is it that I'm getting Christmas lights when I attempt to install an injection of my original keyvault which game with the xbox?

How did you create the freeboot image?
I suggest using Jtag Tool.

It was done with fbuild. I don't really want to remake a freebooters image, just want to fix my DVD drive.

Open up your orig.bin in Flash Tool 360, get your DVD key, and fix your drive. No need to censor everything like you have, it's all useless (aside from maybe console ID and serial #).

How exactly can I do that? I have the dvd key but 360 flash tool only says bad keyvault on my current nand dump so I can't edit in the dvd key.
