i was selling my ipod on my local classifed newspaper site... and this lady named
Nicole Redwood says she will buy it from me. this is the first email she sent me...

" i will like to proceed with the transaction for your system.i will like to pay you off with (USPS).USPS is a postal money order and is also an international
online payment method. The buyer makes the payment using the seller's full name,addressand account info cos USPS will deliver the money to the seller's address within 24hrs after payment approval. When the payment is approved, USPS sends the seller an approval email to notify him. I believe its a very convinient payment method, and so, if u still wanna sell
to me, i'll need ur full name, address to commence with the payment.

so being the nice guy i am i sent her an email that says the below

hi,
i dont have any problems with that as long as i get the full payment first
and if you are providing shipping. where is it exactly that you want it
shipped to. please call me if you would like.

she replies

so i give her my name and address... little did i know i got an email 2 mins later that says the following..

Dear {MY Name}-
Your $350.00 money order for "IPOD 4G 20GB" from Nicole Redwood has been approved. Your money order has been sent immediately and you shall receive it in 4-6 business days.

Due to the fact that most sellers don't send out item despite the fact that buyers have paid for the item(s), so we have made a policy that sellers must ship out items within 24 hours of payment confirmation and send us the tracking number of shipping for verification.

so today i decided to call usps.... i called them and after talking to 6 reps they said they dont know whats going on.

i m thinking about scamming the lady back by sending her a paper made ipod

Don't send it. If you do I'll personally come to your house and shoot you. That is how the typical scam works. They say they will send you money (they include a big ass description of how the payment works) then they tell you you will get a confirmation email and that you must send the item out as soon as you recieve the email. The email is fake, it was sent by them. If you send it you will be out. It's a scam man.

That's a great idea. I remember I was reading somewhere where someone got a similar email except it was for an expensive laptop. SO he decided to go through with it, but he sent them a box of bricks or something. It was shipped overseas, and it just happened so that on those boards there was someone in that town. So spys were sent, and it was caught on videos. I believe it was delivered to some internet cafe. The guy collected donations to ship it. I forget what site I read this on, it was so damn funny.

Someone tried to scam me for the first time like a week ago.
Some middle eastern lady (no offence to anyone) calls and tells me that I am eligible for a $12000 grant for college.
Im like great
blah blah blah (she is hard to understand and I have to yell for her to hear me)
We just need to know a few things.
What is your middle initial. ( I tell her, what could it hurt?)
We need to know where to send the money.
Where do you bank? (Still believing her I tell her)
We need to know your account number to send the money.

at this point I laugh and hang up the phone. Then I google the company she told me she was with (Advantage America) and find out that it was indeed a scam.


I seriously want to know what kind of people work for "companies" like this ripping people off. How sad is that?

HEHE ya bring it on to that scambaiters site and see if they will go through with it. That would be hillarious. Even so, it might be worth the money for the laugh you will get from the paper IPOD. Do it dude, see if you can get them to send some cash to cover shipping costs and such.

Call up USPS and tell tem about it. They look down on mail fraud, impersonating a government organization, etc. Best way to make frauders pay is with money/jail time.

thanks for the mail.i will send you the shipping invoice now.USPS i will delivered $650 USD to your address. you will have to print copy of the label and paste it on the package for fedex

guess what after like 2 mins i got another email with a label for fedex not usps. im just gonna wait for a little while till i get a good idea of what to do and then ill ship some garbage out.


oh by the way i called usps they dont even know what they are doing. i told them its a fraud and they are using your name and what not the rep. transfered me to the website manager.... and he was like i dont know anything about that call the customer service
