Keep up this build. Best I have used.

One thing... I dont know if it is related to this build but if you have a mouse plugged in, you cant click on My Files on the Home Page. All other "Yellow Box" Links work fine.

Any ideas??

Thanks

QUOTE(Nepth @ Feb 27 2006, 06:42 PM) *

I believe this is an ongoing issue with xbmc and i know there are some mplayer issues, but I've searched a lot of the bug lists and haven't come across this particular one. I've only had it happen twice, once was on a .avi dvd rip of a movie, and the other was on a random episode of a tv series dvd rip (all episodes were ripped with the same settings, so this really confuses me). The bug is that the audio will continue playing through, but the video will lag massively, only updating a single frame every half second to three seconds. I've tried messing wtih caches and filters (post processing always off). and it has had absolutely no effect. Also (since this wasn't specified). The files have been thouroughly tested and run fine on multiple computers, but have the same errors on multiple xboxes. If anyone knows a fix or workaround to this, please let me know, thanks.

Nepth I was having this issue also. But I found the problem to be a bad audio encode. I have since fixed the problem and my files playback fine. I would be glad to help you figure out what the problem is. I need to know what kind of audio your avi have.

Try lowering the cache, but as the audio starts i wouldn´t hold my breath that this fixes it.

/nod. I've tried it down to 2MB with no luck. Just surprised that all of the sudden it doesn't work on this build (reverted back to the last build, and it worked fine with the same settings and these exact DVD's). Anyway, I do know that 1080i is getting close, as freemem is always getting down to around 3-4MB when upsampling. I'll try my 128MB box and see if it works ok upsampling to 1080i with this version.

You could try with the mplayer.dll from your old version with the new XBMC...

sure it's just not badly interleaved files? (windows players tend to handle these better than mplayer)

check if the nocache / noninterleaved settings in video osd helps.

Badly interleaved files might be his problem and it might have been mine also. When I would load the file in VirtualDub it gave a message stating that the audio header was bad and it needed to be rewriten or I could uncompress the audio and reencode it. Nepth I suggest that you try the options that Spiff has suggested(he has been at this longer than I have). If those don't work or you don't like the idea of having to change a setting for certain files let me know and I will try to help you fix your problem. My fix took between 5 & 10 minutes for a 22 minute avi.

FYI xbmcscripts is back up and fully functioning through xbmc. smile.gif

BTW, The Python scripts for xbmc have really taken off, All I can say is WOW! its been a few months since I tried any and I'm amazed at the vast variety, usefullness, and expecially the ease of use. Everything I tried worked very well with no effort. Kudos to all devs working on the great scripts.

I have 2 problems in the new build.

1) This was a problem I posted earlier, in the MS Soundtracks section, the artist names are no longer there. When I goto MS Soundtracks, it just has a Number which I believe is the number of the soundtrack in the order that I created them or that they are listed on the original Xbox Dash, but the name of the Soundtrack should be there.

2) I have a bunch of Video files(Top Gear episodes in AVI format to be exact) burned onto a DVD. A few weeks ago I realized the DVD was in that ISO9660 format so I finally got the Xbox to read all of the files instead of just the first one, and it was playing them fine. But in this build, I push the play button and nothing happens, it stutturs for a second like its thinking then nothing. I've even tried "Play Using-> MPlayer(Default)". Clips of the same videos are on my Xbox and those still play fine. But the thing I noticed is on the clips, which are just cut sections of the full video from the DVD, no differences in Codecs or anything, it just plays the clip. It used to say "AVI Format Detected" and do some work. Now it just starts it after a second. On the DVD files, it doens't say anything, it used to say "AVI Format Detected".

Other than that, my XBMC is perfect. Guess its time to go back a build. Thanks for the hard work anyways T3CH! Also I don't know if you noticed but the XBMC logo on the startup screen is no logner in the center, its down a little bit.

someguyofdeath: The issue with soundtracks + the splash have been fixed.

If you know of a genuine bug, please post it over at the XBMC official forums - not many devs read xbox-scene.

Was curious as to how difficult it would be to add the Tivo modules into an upcoming build of XBMC. I have found a tutorial that instructs you on how to allow your xbox to stream recorded series 1 tivo programs using XBMC. I have successfully used this technique to do so. However, it only works on a very old/outdated verison of XBMC. I was wondering if any of you badassed developers are able to somehow incorporate the needed tivo files into a new build of XBMC. I am also surprised that this technique has not yet been emplored in standard XBMC releases, I would think it would be a popular mod, streaming Tivo shows over network on a game system. It really is awesome when it works properly. Maybe even add a Tivo selection in the Videos portion of the XBMC GUI? Let me know if this is a good idea or if I am a jerk for asking this. Thanks.

Wery nice! I love XBMC. But there are still some annoying bugs in this build.

I have tried to play DVD-videos with this newst XBMC. But there is a problem with subtitles. XBMC doesn't always show Finnish or Swedish subtitles. I tried to select Finnish subtitles from the DVD's own menu and from the XBMC's on screen menu during playback. But XBMC just doesn't show these subtitles. It did show all the other subtitles like Polish, Nederlands etc. but not Finnish (why?). XBMC just shows the name of the subtitle for example "19. (Invalid)". This is happenig for example on DVD-boxes like Deadwood and 24 (Twenty-four, 1st season). In some DVDs Finnish subtitles works, but for example not in the two I mentioned. Finnish subtitles work if I play these DVDs with DVD-X v2.0. But I want to play them with XBMC because it looks better and is easier to use. I hope this can be fixed.
