I ordered and received an MS25 today to replace a Lite-On drive.

No problems with the flashing, but once everything was back together, the clip-on eject button doesnt seem to physicaly reach the switch on the machine.

I ended up having to use an MS28, which did reach. Looking at the ms25 compared to the ms28, the bracket the button clips to seemed to be slightly more recessed on the ms25, which is probably the cause of the problem.

Anyone else come accross this, is there any fix, other than maybe superglueing something to make the little bar longer.

Absolutely i'm sure. the little black bits were through the holes and everything was flush.

I will be trying it again on the next one I get, but in the mean time, im interested to hear if anyone has managed to make one fit, and if so, was it a core or a premium eject button.

Just incase anyone is interested, I thought I might post an update on this drive.

Tonight I had a lite-on machine in so thought i would try this drive as its replacment. The machine tonight was an arcade, rather than a premium, so white switch rather than chrome. I was hoping it would make enough of a difference to make it work, but it was exactly the same, no ability to eject.

Now it gets weirder.....I actualy bought two MS25's, which are both brand new, both out of the same batch, and both from the same seller.....and out of curiosity, I tried the other one in this machine tonight, and it worked without a problem...tried the other again, and no-go whatsoever.

The good thing is I was thinking I had blown £60 and that they would both be duffers, but as it turns out, I only have one thats useless. Strange though, as from the front, they look 100% identical.

Ho hum.

I would be extremely surprised if this was the case....Ive worked on hundereds of 360's, and I have never had this problem before....and it would be uncanny for me to have had exactly the same problem on two different machines, especialy swapping the drive out for the working one, then swapping back in the bad one....so effectivley ive put 2 different machines together 3 times with this drive and repeated the problem.....yet never doing it on any other machine before.

Thanks for your input, and I'm not one of those people who will stubbournly insist that I couldnt possibly have done anything wrong........ but theres no way I have !

Next older Samsung machine I get in, Im going to try, out of interest, to see if it fits that.
