Hello all..

I just put together a Slim360 and all of a sudden the power and eject are going nuts, even if i touch the system anywhere on the face place it goes nuts..

tried 2 face plates and 2 RF boards.

checked cables and RF boards for shorts, scrapes, cuts any sort of damage.. what else can be causing this.

THE Frank Dux ???

Kumetae ?

Just guessing. I'd say your problem is with the flex ribbon that attaches into the RF board. Not set in right or getting crimped.

Could be something more .... but that's where I would start

Or maybe something got into the Dock Port of the RF board. Causing a power bridge. Maybe the pins are damaged in that port.

Ya checked both cables, cleaned them too, checked the connector and cleaned it, checked both RF boards and cleaned it, also checked entire board for bent pins, and in the usb and other ports, cleaned everything with air also, spent 1hour examining boards.. no crimps or scrapes.

tried it out of the housing (xbox that is) also. still the same, the power and eject just go nuts for a min then no buttons work, then they work a few times after a min, and then go nuts again. it truly seems like a short but i can not find one anywhere.

Wonder if it is the Power Reg Mosfet for the DVD drive

To remove and replace - it will take hot air soldering
