I know I know, I'm just full of problems. lol
Ok, I have an xbox with the samsung drive in it. I had a friend install an xecuter 3 chip into my xbox. When I got the xbox back, I turned it on and I had a screen with the big green x on it and xecuter rox my box at the bottom of it. So I kinda know the chip is installed correctly. Anywho, me not knowing anything about chips and such... I flashed it with the xecuter 3 bios. I don't remember what banks I had switched on or off. And I don't remember the exact bios version. But I do know I needed the one with v16 behind it. And I did use that one. The flash took. Or at least I thought I couldn't get the xbox to turn on correctly. So I continued to flash it many times with the swicthes in all kinds of positions. I know, I think that was bad. I have a copy of slayers on a disc. But I can't get the box to read it. I keep getting an error 16 message with the chip in and out of the box. And sometimes I get a sound but no screen. Any help appreciated. And sorry it's so long. |

QUOTE So I continued to flash it many times with the swicthes in all kinds of positions. Not a very bright move on your end.Im guessing your xbox is a 1.6? Theres an explanation to every error code I just don't have the link to it right now, I'll post it later if I find it. EDIT: Found this and copied and pasted. I get Error 16! What do I do? Error 16... EXPLAINED... Yes, it is a DASH ERROR, but it is due to the TIME ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- NORMAL BOOT PROCESS: 1.Xbox turns on 2. several checks are done for hardware, incuding RAM, HD, and DVD-DRIVE, just to test if they are present 3.Xbox checks SYSTEM TIME -> if no time is found -> boot dash off hard drive to set time 4. Xbox looks for default.xbe on DISC, if it is not found, goto 5 5. Xbox boots dash off of Hard drive What is happening in your case: 1.Xbox turns on 2. several checks are done for hardware, incuding RAM, HD, and DVD-DRIVE, just to test if they are present 3.Xbox checks SYSTEM TIME ->TIME NOT FOUND -> Xbox tries to launch dash off of hard drive -> DASH NOT FOUND-> ERROR 16 - DASH ERROR The fix: Put back in your OLD drive (the one with the dash's still on it) Set the time Swap the drives without physically unplugging the xbox. (thanks heinrich) And then there's this This post has been edited by Modderxtrordanare: Sep 15 2005, 03:09 AM |
