I have been using roxio 5 and windows xp tells me that this software is incompatible for some reason (been saying it ever since installed it) but i have been using it for 2 years and never given me any problems, untill this week it just craped out everytime i try and do something with it, my cpu goes to 100% load and nothing is happening i tried reintalling it 3 times still same results, so i guess im looking for new cd burning software not necisarly for xbox stuff but for music cds/data cds, anything around $50, i like nero but no way im paying $100 bucks, and i dont really like roxio its alright but $80 is to much for it any alternatives for around $50?

I can almost gaurantee you without even looking that there is free CD burning software on the internet. Just try searching google. There is usually free software to do almost anything, just look around for it.

well most cd/dvd drives come with either nero or easy cd/dvd creator you can get a dvd burner for like 60-75 bucks now adays, find one with nero and youll have the best of both worlds, if your willing to pay 50.00 for the software, just spend a little more and get a burner with it

It only burns DVDs but man it is one solid program. Works better than most pay programs that are out there. You certainly have nothing to lose by trying it. wink.gif

Just to let you know the DVDDecrypter has been able to burn CD ISO's for a while.

I use it to burn/rip all my ISO's it's fast and simple to use.

Another thread is ruined by people who are suggesting illegal methods for obtaining burning software for less than $50. dry.gif

I bought Nero OEM for like $5 I think. I use that for cds and data dvds. Then I use dvddecrypter for ISO's.
