Hi guys, I know you might have seen this topic posted once but they closed it for some apparent reason. So i am back with a work log and pictures. Its not quite finished yet as i am just getting to spray due to snow. So the moderator team can't blame me for that surely.

Anyway i must get onto the work log. I would like to start with posting up images of the 2 items i will be combining together:

Here is 1: IPB Image

And the second:
IPB Image

This is just a quick post as i got to get time to crack the Xbox open before i have to help push cars out the snow again.

Bye for now. Will be needing some good old help from you guys later so be ready. I will hopefully post again in about 5 hours. Gives me time to crack open the 360 have a look at the buttons, where they are situated and i will include images on how to do it later on.

See ya for now

RDC already explained why it was closed....

"Posting links to things you plan to use and where you purchased them, as well as pimping your site, isn't going to fly around here. The Case / Hardware section here is for showing off the actual work people have done, how too do said work, or ask questions, this thread has none of that.

If you have something useful to post then please do so, but this isn't a tutorial for anything."

By the way, just so you know, the Turbine case is really really horrible, I have one sat next to my desk. The turbine requires a 12v 120mm fan directly behind it to make it rotate, It's also very loud and a horrible build. Shoving a hamster in there would do a better job.

I expect this topic will get closed, like your last one. If you get actual pics of actual items you own it might stay open.

Ok then so i have now taken my xbox HDD apart and have come into a problem. here is an image of the cable i removed from it. And yes it has been taken from a camera. It is part of my mod and i need a little help. What could i do to extend it. And for any moderators out there i did this just so it does not get removed for not posting pictures that are not to do with the mod.

Here it is the cable i need to know if it can be extended or not. If it can please say or post a link of a tutorial. Cheers guys.

I do have the turbine case and personally i think it is a really nice built case. See if you have it set up correctly it will be a very decent case. I have a 140mm Fan behind the turbine fan. i am running a AMD Hex core in it and it is working nicely. I can play games and the temperature goes up to about 40 - 60 degrees. Nothing serious at all. In fact in my experience of building gaming computers it has been a very good case for its price. I have had many people asking about the case and i have then been told that they got one themselves so in fact i would disagree with you. Also i am painting this so the case all coming apart is a very good feature. I can unscrew it all without having to undo rivets.

Any way its your opinion also what colour do you own? Mine is silver but soon to be blue and white when my mod is finished. Will be posting a picture of that when it is done. Hopefully next weekend.

You can either by a SATA extension cable (which includes the power cable for it), or you can solder directly to the mobo (what I did), but then it's hard to solder the power cable so I used power from the dvd drive's cable (which I don't use). Or you could cut the cable and solder directly to the adapter to extend it.

OK thank you for all your help. I have found this: http://www.lindy.co.uk/lindyshop/pictures/33670big.jpg

Would this be the type of cable you are talking about. If so i can order a couple. Just in case i get one that is Dead on Arrival.

Cheers

OK. That has cleared up the extending issue now the motherboard mounting. Would it be best to leave it in the aluminium case the 360 board is in or remove it and screw it onto some motherboard stand off's. I have the stand off's but no tapping tool to get the thread on the motherboard tray. Now could i just grab a glue gun and secure the stand off's by applying a bit of glue to the thread of each of them when on the tray. In simple terms. i will drill some holes, put a stand off in each hole leaving the top half where screws go in, then apply the hot glue on the thread. (not seen as the glue is on the back of the mobo tray)

If there is an easier way please let me know and jaroc. You said you did a case mod. feel free to post a couple of images so i can see exactly how your mod looks. That would be really cool

Thanks

Cable wont be faulty. And no one is going to give you allot of these answers you need to just figure it out for yourself it is what makes these mods unique. Try what you think will work.
