hey everyone, i have a 40gb HDD in my old PC and i was wondering if i could just format it then put all of the files from my softmodded xbox..
you know just ftp them onto my pc, then format my 40gb hdd, and then put the files on to the hdd aqnd throw it into my xbox laugh.gif

More or less, yes.
Use xbox HDM to prepare the drive, putit back in your Xbox, and FTP everything back, or before you lock it, copy everything back with Xplorer360, then lock it.

If you have a softmod, you must have the eeprom from your present set up in order to lock the HDD up. The HDD must be locked before it goes back in the Xbox and it must be locked with the correct eeprom

you can use almost any HDD size, make sure it is lockable

i have xbox HDM, and last night i tried making a new xbox hdd from scratch but it turns out i did,t have the C and E files, so i FTP'd into my xbox, then made the disc again, and it transfered everything over, but when i try to start up the xbox it goes to error 5...

okay

i got config magic, and got a back up of the eeprom and then made another xboxhdm iso, then locked my new hdd, but when i started it in my box it went to error 06, which means it wont unlock it......
