I recently replaced my 320GB HDD with a SATA->IDE 500GB Seagate. Seemed to work fine, but XBMC was freezing mid movie (after stuttering for a few minutes). The audio continued, but no input, including IGR was working.

I put the old 320GB back in, but is showing the same behaviour.

You are very aware of when the problem happens, because the fan speed gets progressively faster until the noise is unbearable.

I tried resetting to defaults, but have no control from the xbox controller whatsoever.

Tried deleting UserData folder, but now it only boots into recovery mode (sigh).

Will try a full reinstall, but don't know what to put in the Q drive, if anything.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers.

Never mind. I reinstalled the latest nightly, completely replacing the folder in E:\APPS\xbmc, and it is now working fine.

Don't know what the issue was, but it is solved now.

If someone can edit the title of this post (I cannot seem to), please add [solved]

Cheers.
