well, the PPC has been around for a while. Go out and get an Apple Computer or a Gamecube.

Anyways, the PPC is 30% more efficent than a x86 (Pentium Compatable) in a vaccum.

it could go either way ibm works on latest ppc's but there also working on the cell they could make the next ppc better or worse same with the cell but then again there not the only ones working on that we should wait and se

yes true but I remeber hearing that the "cell processor" was actually a bunch of micro processors laid ontop of each other with each processor having its on clock speed. Something like 512k to 1hz each. Now thats pretty amazing ohmy.gif

Since each cell has is about the size of dust particle overall heat ouput is quite minaml. Also since there are thousands of these cells it would be possable to break past the 4ghz barrior and only using a fan and heat sink to keep it cool!

Last time I heard Sony and Ibm where getting close to about 2ghz with cell. That was about a year and a half ago.
