my box is modded with an executer 3. i'm concerned that having just signed up to xbox live I'll one day soon forget to disable the chip. at present i have to hold down the power button to disable it but i'm sure i'll forget at some point.

i want to totally disable it so it's not possible to boot at all with the chip.

would i be best to just take the case off and take the chip out all together?? all my games are originals - i have backups of them locked away.

i see from other posts that it is possible to get banned even if the chip is disabled.

i need to remove the chip - is this just a case of unplugging it from the pogo pins and cutting a couple of wires??

to remove a chip you would remove all the wires not just cutting them but then again why would you remove it?

as mentioned above - i want to remove the chip so that there's no way i can ever get banned on live. i don't use the chip anyways. surely just cutting the wires to the actual chip and removing it from the pogo pins this will take care of it?

Um as long as you hold the power button and the switch lights red, you can go on live fine. The only ways you get banned is going on live with a hacked bios enabled or upgrading the hd after you sign on the first time.

couldn't you just unplug the wires going to the power/eject adapter (the one that comes with the x3)

Amen.

The X3 bios has a feature that won't allow you to go on Live w/ it enabled, so there isn't any potential for such a retarded move.

But, by your posts and obvious lack of knowledge, I'll assume you didn't even flash the X3 bios and went w/ something else.
