Hey Reval, I cant actually help you with your question (sorry!) but what you've posted interests me. I'm a devoted Mac user at work (Panther 10.3.8) but I figured I was going to have buy a Windows PC for use at home as I want to set up FTP with my modded X-box. By the sounds of it though, you've got an xbox-to-Mac connection up and running. Any chance you could give me a brief outline of how to do this? Thanks, JonBOY.

Hey, i am currently a Mac user at work as well. i believe i have made some pretty good prgress from the first time i touched a mac. well... eventhough i use my pc to transferr files from a comptuer to the xbox. i have also attempted to connect from mac to xbox, i have to say the connection was succesful but i dont know if my firewall was on or not. but even though if it was off it wouldnt hurt to turn your firewall off for a couple of second to transferr some files. you can always turn it back on after you done.

You need to do PASV FTP transfers to get through the firewall... I think one of the dash's supports PASV, UnleashX supports PASV, others may as well.

Otherwise you're kinda boned.

FTP is FTP, it doesn't really matter what platform you're running on. I use my Mac to connect to my XBOX all the time. I reccomend Transmit (#1), CuteFTP (#2), or FTPeel(#3).

There are also some very decent XBOX utilities that run in OS X (check macupdate).

Good luck.

Hey JonBoy,

From my experience there are 2 ways to connect to the xbox:
1. Over the usual lan network - here I connected a lan cable from my airport extreme to my xbox. Went into airport admin utlity and got the ip it gave to my xbox. The went into evox and changed the xbox's ip to the one I got from my airport admin utility.

2. Over a crossover cable - Here you need to get a crossover cab;e and connect it from your MAC ethernet port to the xbox. Then in OSX I went into network from the system utility menu and chose the "built-in ethernet" and pressed configure. Under TCP/IP I changed the ip address to 192.168.2.4 - then pressed configure. Then went into evox and changed the ip address to 192.168.2.4. FTP over crossover is convenient when you only havea wireless network because its alot faster and if you play online on xlink kai.

FTP client used: Transmit
