So yea, my Xbox has some DVD drive issues and I will probably do the RGH hack. I have some questions.

1. Will I be able to play my xbox games (backups, originals, from hdd)?
2. Will I be able to flash back into original firmware and play on live?
3. Will I be able to load DLC for a game?
4. What about achievements and saves, will they work on an RGH console?
5. Will I be able to add a bigger hard drive to my Xbox?
6. Will I be able to upload files from my computer to the Xbox (via Ethernet maybe)?
7. What about homebrew? Will I be able to run it? Develop my own?

Also there's this other thing. I'm broke right now so I was looking for some cheap glitchers and nand readers, here's what I've come up with.

NAND programmer:
Matrix NAND Programmer

Glitch chips:
Coolrunner (proboably a rip-off)
X360Glitch

Will I be able to pull off this hack, using the programmer and one of those glitch chips? Are they compatible with each other?

My xbox is Phat, jasper, Lite-on drive, post NXE dash so JTAG is not possible.

Thank you for your time.

1) Yes
2) Yes but what a pain, you can wait for better dual nand solution
3) You can download DLC and FTP it to you xbox
4) Both work fine
5) Add any size HDD you want
6) Yes FTP will be needed for all sorts of stuff
7) Yes of course

If you have never done this before I suggest TX coolrunner, nand-x and Jtag tool.

Do a lot of reading. Good luck

Thanks for those answers. I've looked at Coolrunner+nand-x, but it costs too much for me (currency differences).

Also, do I really need a NAND reader, can't I just make myself one from an LTP port?

Yes, you can... but they are extremely slow and tend to have false reads, when compared to a USB reader. You're talking a read speed difference of ~ 45 minutes via LPT and ~ 2 minutes via USB.

I don't really care about the read speeds, since I can just leave my computer on and forget, but those false-readings got me worried.

Here's one more.
All those glichers that I saw have a programming port. What does it do, why do you need to program? Don't they come per-programmed?

If you don't care about the read speeds, then you just do multiple reads until you get several matching reads by comparing them to each other. You have to program the glitchers with the timing files. Most of them do not come pre-programmed.

You could always hold out for the Xaio, which claims to be able to both flash the SPI as well as perform glitch operations on the console. AND they claim to be forward thinking with support of corona / xenon boards. Might want to check them out, there is no pricing out yet.

After doing some further reading, I discovered how to make that cable yourself, so I will be doing that, as for the XIAO. I think I'll pass, get a cheap glitcher and be happy with it.

Hi cepa
I have IX jasper that I want to update to RGH.
I'm looking for cheap solution too. tongue.gif biggrin.gif

I saw the 3 product that you liked here...

I think I'll buy the USB SPI because I have 256M JASPER and with the LPT it will take 35Min for 18Mb = do the calculate yourself... blink.gif

I found this guide but I don't know if it can feat DX product.

Do you have guide for doing this with the product to published here???

All the guide I saw was for the Coolrunner+nand-x

Thanks.

This one is for those cheapo glichers on DX. In your case, LTP is impossible, sadly. Anyway, good luck on RGH smile.gif.

I decided I will be getting the Rip-off coolrunner and doing cables myself. I'm going to order it today.

Why is LPT impossible?
