Hello everyone. I've searched the forum for something like this to no avail unfortunately. I've connected my x-chip--with evox 1.3 bios flashed--to my xbox and soldered the chip from the 5v hole to the specified conductor on the motherboard for power, and when I don't have the harddrive or dvd hooked up, the xbox starts saying there is an xchip inside. That's good, but when I connect the dvd drive, the machine frags. I can connect just the harddrive, and it boots still, but then it says there's an error with the dvd...duh, cuz it's not connected. Anyway, I was just wondering if maybe connecting the dvd sucks too much power from the chip and it starts fragging again, or what. Any suggestions would help! Thanks

Hey...I got it to work. I had to unplug the IDE cable from the motherboard and re-seat it. Must have had a bad connection.

Ensure to post all of your Xbox specs when inquiring about help. I take it that you have a 1.5-1.6. That's great that you got it back working though.
