Ok, I'm having trouble modding my xbox, its a 1.6 and after reading all about what you have to do,
I'm thinking to wait on it for awhile. however, my old xbox was a 1.3 that blew a PSU. The 1.6 I bought
for parts and had a Broken DVD drive Tray. So I swapped out the DVD drive from my 1.3 into this 1.6 one.
I was also hoping that the hard drive would swap also as easy as the dvd drive. no such luck with that. I got
a Call Technical Support Error. Is there anyway I can get my old Hard drive in this new xbox so that I would have the mods with it. not to mention the old game saves. etc. Also, the dvd drive is starting to quit more and more. It works good with Real Audio CDS and Games, but if I want to transfer songs with a CD-RW I get the old "can't recognize disk" error. I checked several pages and can't find how to transfer the songs over. so far I have used, Windows Media Player, iTunes, and Nero and various speeds like 1x, 2x, 4x, and higher. no luck there either, also a few different disks also such as Memorix and imation. I need help with that. Could the dvd drive be failing a bit, anyway to fix that or make it read cd-r/cd-rws? Thanks BTW its a Thompson Drive
