So I got a new Maxtrix Freedom PCB - I've wired it up to dvd drive. In JF I've loaded the source firmware am now trying to write the target to the Freedom PCB.

The Freedom is wired up correctly as I've used the Freedom Manager to backup the firmware and it works fine.

I've followed the JF tut and can't seem to get it into vendor mode. My sata chip set is fine as I've flashed loads of phats before and have never had a problem.

On mtk flash I've selected phat and clicked intro and it doesn't even go into vendor mode. I've tried tray in/out/half in - no go.

Any ideas?

I've seen a few references to using the 360 usb pro - is this required? Should I be able to use my via sata chipset to do this?
