Ok, I was really really bored last night, and decided to put my guts into an old compaq case I had laying around.

Here are so me early pictures AKA super ghetto.

This is when I was just making sure it was doable, everything was practicly laying in there.

Here are some newer pictures, I have everything worked out, except the power for the dvd drive is too short for me to put it in the slots.

And don't flame me for this being stupid. I was just bored and figured this would be somethign fun to do. If I had a nicer looking case I might would invest some money into making it look good. But I don't so yea..

Lmao, thanks, if I could find a way to extend dvd power cable without just dolering a bunch of extensions to it I could make it look alot better.

cut the yellow wire in the middle bare off the ends make it so that you can solder onto it
get an old ide ribbon or some wire you may have and get i think its 14 bits of wire of the same length and solder them into it.
make sure to tape it up

Meh, no parties around, friends were'nt doing anything, lmao.

But, the dvd drive doesn't fit in the trays anyway, because of the tabs that snap it in place. Is there anyway to remove them other than a dremel?

Exactly how you do it.
If you want to make it nice looking use some heatshrink tubing

you could use a pair of sidecutters or a hacksaw but a dremel is a lot easier (and usually more fun muhaha.gif )

Back to the shadows...

Well I meant other than removing them, I wouldn't mind removing them, but I'm likely going to be putting it back in it's old shell as this wouldn't be practical for taking to peoples' houses etc..

if you want it to fit in a normal pc case then you will have to cut them off

or you could mod the case but this will take even longer and involve lots of cutting and most likely loss of blood

anyway you could put it bqack in the old caddie and it would still fit without problems

Back to the shadows...again

I fixed the problem, by using a different drive tongue.gif. I got it looking pretty good imo, atleast the best it can in this case.

And I had a scare last night, a wire got caught in the fan over the cpu and I didn't know it, it was 88C after a few hours of super bomber man 2.

So I decided to get it cleaned up:

The top drive is just a dummy drive to make it look better.
