I've purchased a slim from a friend and he's keeping the hdd. Can I take my official phat 250gb drive out of its case and put it in the slim? Will it be remain legit?

Hello,

This is my first post. I came here looking for some answers to a tricky question so please bear with a total noob to the forums.

My question is similar but the reverse so pls forgive my thread hijacking.

I have a fat (phat?) 360 (Jasper I believe) and I want to put in a bigger HDD. Mine is only 20GB.
I'm willing to pay the MS Premium to get a real one but official drives for the fat models are becoming scarce.

I can find plenty of the official HDDs for the new slims and they're an acceptable price, can I extract the new 250GB from a Slim box and put it in the older fat style enclosure? Will that work or is there something hinky about the slim ones that it won't work?

I've seen all these tutorials that show how to put the old one in your new slim, wouldn't it work the other way too?
