This question goes out to the experts.

I acquired a dead 1.6 last week. I replaced the collector and now the system works like a charm.
Today I installed a DuoX2 GS and for some reason it will not enable (ie. can't get the Xbox to boot the LPC)

-I checked all my soldering and it is good. I tested with a multimeter all of the points on the LPC and they have continuity. I checked the D0 from the bottom of the board to the D0 pad on the chip and it is fine. I even checked along the same trace where you solder the d0 wire to just to make sure that it was going through the board just fine. So all the soldering checks out but the xbox still boots with the chip disabled.

-I tried BT to back of button, and BT to pin 9

-I even tried grounding d0. Multimeter verified d0 was indeed grounded from the bottom of the board to the screwhole.

Yet it still will not boot the chip... or even frag. It just boots like normal.

So does anyone know of something else that could be damaged (Other than visible damage) that could be making it not boot the LPC?

Never come across a box that would not respond to grounded D0.
Cut the top Lframe trace and see what happens. It has no option but to boot from the LPC then

To make chip boot always enabled just connect BT to pin 9.

To update everyone. Chancer's solution worked. I cut the top Lframe like you suggested and now it boots the LPC. So I am guessing there must be some damage somewhere else on the board before I got it that I don't know about.

I had the exact same problem with a motherboard this past weekend.
All my voltages were correct & nothing seemed out of order.

Since I have spare chips laying around, I switched from the duoX2 to the X2.6CE and it worked just fine.

Not sure whether it was a chip problem or the LFRAME, but it's working fine now.

I've never had problems with the old duoX2 cromwell chips, but I've already run across two duoX2 GS chips that won't boot on 1.6 consoles.
