So.. can you guys be a little more specific with the size of partitions and so on?

Should I format with 32kb? 64kb clutster size?

I'll build it with xhdm, that part I'm familiar since I did it for my 80GB. The after part with XBPartitioner is the part that I'm not so sure.
Please, help out here smile.gif)

You have no choice - XBPartitioner 1.1 sorts the cluster size out for you.

Just make sure you check the cluster size after formatting.

Ok but I want to know what kind of partition size xboxhdm will try to create?
I'll use it just to start a lock the HD? The partitions won't matter because XBPartitioner will destroy it all and rebuild with the correct size?

Why do you want to know? You are using xboxhdm to build the basic disk (C,E,X,Y,Z) and install the dash and the softmod. You will completely resize and reformat the F/G partitions with XBPartitioner.

Oh ok smile.gif

This is sounding more clear to me.

Which size should I create F, G and the other partitions?
Is there an optimum size for each one to fill up 2TB?

With a 2TB disk you have no choice. F and G both need to be 1TB, because that's the maximum size for a single partition.

hi guys

i had some issues with XBOX HDM 2.2.

i try to configure a new HDD for my new) softmodded xbox.

so i backup the original HDD, create the usb stick, boot on slax. all ok

but:

-the usb key needs to be mounted on /dev/sdb and /mnt/sdb1
-when i start xboxhd, and choose the first option, it don't find the cdrom, (error ???) why does it needs the cdrom? is the cd mounted on a special folder?

any ideas?

regards.

What exactly were you trying to do? Copy files from usb to new hdd? xboxhdm 2.2 doesn't use CD. Can you take a picture of the error screen and post it here?

We'll just get this out of the way...

I've trolled on here for about two years.
My original modded box is dead (possible corrosion issue)

I bought a new (so to speak) box and I am attempting my first softmod/hotswap.
My PC only has one IDE port and my CD/DVD is SATA.
I gave up on xboxhdm 1.9 after reading about the lack of two IDE ports or being able to use a single IDE ribbon.

I am now trying to use xbobhdm 2.2, but I can't figure out how to run it.

Is there a viable tutorial on using this beast? Any help would be appreciated!
