im just wondering with the dvd remote could i turn the xbox on and off via the remote?

with some mods, yes. But there's alot of easier ways to do it.

hmm so how can i do it?

i dont need the remote because i have a universal remote is there a to make a infa red recever thing that will plug in and let me turn the xbox on and off?

that thing is 20$ and a dvd remote off ebay is about $20

Why dont U do the controller Mod fit a momentary push switch @ cost of $2 a little soldering skill & small pieces of Kynar Wire the layout for Mod is in the Tuts Section or a www.xboxchopshop.com in the install manual section.

I use avalaunch and you can control most things in the dash with the dvd remote. They even have an option to turn it off. in current versions of XBMC you can do the same thing you can select reboot or turn off as a software option. As for power on, i doubt you can do that with just a software mod? any ideas?
