Hi Guys.
I have a Xbox 1 which has a really old version of XBMC(about 2004). The Soft mod works fine and plays files of the network..But I cant go into settings etc. I FTP'd to the xbox and checked the xboxlog file and it shows that its not mapping Q and T drives where the settings.xml should be.. I don't have any Q or T drives letters that I have is C D E F. E and F are empty and every thing is on C leaving 43Mb free space. Now my question (as I am not familiar with softmods) how do I go about changing the xml to point the skin settings xml in C/Reproductores/XBMC/skin/Project%20Mayhem/ rather than it looking for in Copied text from Xboxlog NOTICE load default skin:[Project Mayhem] ERROR unable to load:Q:\skin\Project Mayhem\pal\myprograms.xml ERROR unable to load:Q:\skin\Project Mayhem\pal\myfiles.xml ERROR unable to load:Q:\skin\Project Mayhem\pal\settings.xml ERROR unable to load:Q:\skin\Project Mayhem\pal\myweather.xml Or changing the xbmc version to latest one by T3CH (http://217.118.215.116/) I am reluctant in changing as I dont wanna screw up whats already working. I just wanna have some control via settings etc which I cant see. Please help. I would like to get working on this today.. I can provide more info and log files screenshots if required. Thanks to everybody who read this. (sorry it was a bit long) G |

The Q drive is a virtual drive that XBMC creates.
If you save the Userdata folder from XBMC and FTP the new XBMC over, then FTP your Userdata folder you should be good with the settings. There may be an issue if your XBMC is too old. I have no idea. The safest way to try it is to put the new XBMC in E:\Apps\XBMC2 and copy over your Userdata to it. Try running XBMC from XBMC2 and see if it works. You could also FTP XBMC to your PC as is and FTP the new XBMC to your E:\Apps\XBMC. If you don't like it you can FTP the old one back. |

Thanks 1hotjob. I was thinking of doing the XMBC2 option but C drive has only 43Mb free so it wont work. Plus the current one (userdata) runs from C Drive. E Drive has no Apps folder. It has only these folders TDATA UDATA CACHE File:default.xbe 17 KB Plataformas Xboxgames Xboagames SCREENSHOTS (loads of screen-shots..probably because wrong buttons pressed when playing SNES games..Should I delete the files in them?) As the old one works & is very stable but the settings option is not due to wrong mapping, I don't wanna cause much work for me if it all goes to pot as I wont be able to FTP in to the box if XMBC is not loading..making me do much work. Is there anyway i can change the mapping from Q to C: where i know the project mayhem pal settings xml are? This post has been edited by razorphish: Jan 24 2010, 09:52 PM |

E Drive has no Apps folder. So....... make an Apps folder on E:\ and put XBMC2 there. It isn't a good idea to put any apps on the C partition on a softmodded Xbox anyway, so moving XBMC to E:\ is a good step. This post has been edited by Heimdall07: Jan 24 2010, 09:57 PM |

I agree, make an E:\Apps folder and keep your apps in there.
As long as you back up the eeprom and FTP it to the PC, you can recover from anything. It may be more work than you want though. Are you booting to XBMC as the dash? If so you may not be able to run the new one as an app. |

Well. When the Xbox boots it has a dash (dont know if its EvoX/ UnleashX etc) I dont know how to find out. Its Spanish
so I scroll to Reproductores and in there there is DVDX and XMBC and launch XBMC from there.. The other options are Platforms, which has SNES and NES Emulators. If i install new XBMC in the E:Apps folder how would get it to be in the entries of this Dash? and I dont know how to back up the Eeprom (where would i find it?) and i have very limited time to do this as I am not gonna be able devote time to this next week. |
