I attempted to create a DVD of miscellaneous material, but it was display the DVD as a CD. Once put into the disk tray, it turns from "DVD Ram Drive" to "CD Drive". In Nero, it said that it only had 700 MB of free space, and not the 4.7 gigs. What's happening here?

That is, because NERO has some copy protection, that prevents you from pirating software.

Wow people. Can we please chill? I. am. not. pirating. Chancer already messaged me and told me how I could get banned. This has nothing to do with piracy. Nothing to do with copy protection. It has to do with the installation of a DVD burner. WHy is is reading a DVD as a CD?

This.IS.Not.A.Pirating.Question.

If this is to do with a general DVD burner question .
Did you install the software (Burning software) that came with the drive?
Whats the model of the drive?
Are you sure you selected the DVd tab in Nero.
Also I will move this to the PC forums as it relates to a General PC question

OK. Your question should probably be postedHERE in the PC forum. You'll get a better answer there to your PC techical question.

It's an LG Super Multi DVD Drive. I hooked it up properly, and installed all the Nero Software accordingly. It came with Nero Smart Start and Power Producer Gold and the like. They are reading the blank DVD as a Cd though.

You're probably just not hitting the tab right. Here's how to check if it's really reading it like a cd. Start up Nero Startsmart with your blank DVD in the drive. On the very left, in the red hihlighted titles, select "Nero Toolkit" From that list, select "Nero Infotool" and let it do it's thing. After it's done checking, it will give you a window with lots of information and some tabs. Hit the "Disc" tab and see what shows up. If it is showing up as a DVD-R then you're the one doing something wrong. Not the drive. If it is still showing up as a CD-R, then I would take it back. That would be a weird problem indeed.

So I figured that out, my issue now is how do I properly put an .iso file onto a dvd so that it can be read by my xbox? this is not an issue of piracy, believe me when I say I am thoroughly against that. I own the game, this is a backup - to - be.

Make sure you still have it selected as DVD, and hihglight the fifth icon, which is a box with two discs above it. Choose Burn Image to Disk, which has a picture of a lit match on top of a disk. This will open up Nero Express and a browsing window to locate your .iso. In the Files of Type: box, select all images or your .iso won't show up. Then, find your iso and burn it.
