Extracting Ss With Samsung Sh-d162c Options

I have a Samsung SH-D162C and have read games before using it. However when I try to extrac Saints Row using Xbox Backup Creator it stops on extracting SS. I have also tried my mates Saints Row and that does the same. Is there any way that I can fix this? My drive is set to master and my writer is set to slave and other games have worked before this one. Thanks in advance.

could try extracting it old school method.. with dvdinfo pro. that is... if you can use that method with the 162c

im not sure if theres any harm that can be done sending the wrong codes, so id wait for either a better answer, or a reply from someone who knows if that can be done

if it has worked with other game, it should not be the position but you can try changing it.

If you mean that it stops at about 3.5%, you can check the xbcreator topic, I believe it is discussed.

you can try extracting each piece with xbox creator ( or other like isobuster, dvdinfopro...) and then merge them with ssmerger.

Are you connecting SH-D162C with external usb/firewire enclosure ? ( must be set to master)
If you are connecting via regular IDE , just clean the original disc and try it again.
If still not work, just reflash your SH-D162 C again with Keron v 0.81 and reboot.

i'm having this same problem... i've already ripped battlefield 2 with no problem, now trying gears of war, ghost recon, and motogp 06, and ALL stop at 3.51%

where can i find the firmware to reflash?

Its not the drive. I've got 2 PC's, one with an nForce 3 chipset, and one with an nForce 2 chipset. The nForce 3 one can rip all games with the Sh-d162c drive, but the nForce 2 chipset does the exact same thing yours does.

Does it with both Xbox Backup Creator and Schtrom.

Any hints people?

Yes. I tried every combination I could think of on my nForce 2 chipset. Primary IDE, Secondary IDE, Slave, Master, Cable Select etc. None of them work.

Also, a quick way to tell if the game is going to rip, is to allow it to autoplay the dvd, mine locks up half way through the video and stops playing.

Who makes the Kreon Firmware? Maybe this is something they would like to know.

For everyone getting that error at 3.51% (extracting ss.bin) please bring your question in the xbox backup creator topic such that redline can know about it.

1) also you may want to try from spti to aspi (top of the xbcreator window), if it does not work then
2) use the aspi included in the xbcreator download, if it does not work then
3) read install intruction in the .txt included and reinstall.

If all fails, reports it in the topic mentionned above
and try the dvdinfopro to extract the ss,
do the rest with xbcreator and merge with ssmerger
