Hi,

I found an interesting thread on the internet at http://www.haxnetwork.net/showthread.php?t=12075 .
The guys managed it to run xbmc on the ps3. Maybe its possible to speed it up.

Maybe some linux pros can jump in and test the possibilities of this approach.

The reason it won`t work is that XBMC is based on OpenGL, and the access to GPU`s (graphic hardware) has been disabled in OtherOS. There`s no known way to bypass this protection currently, and most likely won`t be bypassed any time soon.
With the jailbreak currently there might be some interesting developments, but I wouldn`t count on it.
