I'll buy Xbox 360 arcade later this week and my old TV is crap (CRT, low res..) so I decided to play on my monitor(also CRT, but big resolutions and good for me picture). If I'm correct the newest arcade xboxes have hdmi port so I have something like cable masterplan here. If I use HDMI->DVI and then DVI-VGA and connect the monitor will it work fine? And for the audio the plan is to use the standart A/V cable which comes with the xbox and then speakers.
And what about component->DVI then DVI female to female and after that DVI->VGA for the video and component for audio? I think that's simpler. smile.gif
One more thing what about this + this?
I'm pretty lame with these cable stuff so I'm aksing you guys for help. Thanks in advance.

All you need is the VGA cable, you don't need the adapter. You might want the official one though http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-360-Live-VGA-...e/dp/B000AYYADE.

Do the official VGA cable, it has seperate connections for L+R audio.

Isn't rhis cable the same(or atleast does the same work)?
It has R/L audio.
The official one is way too expansive. I mean almost like 4x as the other one. unsure.gif

Did you read the reviews? Over half of them suggest that the cable you selected has shielding issues, and exhibits bad ghosting and other artefacts, and mention the fact that the cable is quite short. That's probably why it isn't very expensive - they've cut corners on quality.

If you wanted to use just VGA cables as someone suggested I would check out the VGA Cables Here. Otherwise if you are set on HDMI to VGA, you can do that directly without translating to DVI first. Here is where you can find HDMI to VGA cables.
