Damn. I was thinking about buying this and turning around and selling it on ebay. I forgot that there is sales tax for circuit city because they have a local store. oh well.

I bought my xbox360 premium on craigslist for 325. Pretty good deal since it included extra accessories and no sales tax. Also, it was nice to have someone else test the hardware to make sure that it wasn't a dud. Overall a good thing.

This doesn't surprise me. I was in Costco over the weekend and saw a $20 MFR rebate. Bundle included Premium, 2 controllers, Play-n-Charge, PGR3. All for $354.95.

Edit: Sorry $454.95

They are just trying to help some people find a better deal on a 360, how is that going commercial?

Heh, when I saw this on the Comp Website yesterday I just sort of ignored it - I didn't even think it was worth posting on X-S. Do be careful though, make sure to see what SORT of mail-in rebate it is. CompUSA ones tend to take a while to get back. (3-4 months sometimes.) - Still, 50 bucks is the cost of a game, so that's not too bad. Sucks that they'd do this the very day after I list one on eBay.

I get tired of both sides bitching. Please all of your whiners give it a break. Sure US will bitch since M$ is a US corporation that shows love to other countries first. Which I can understand since they are trying to win those markets. But you UK people make more money than us so quit it about the price of the system. Of course it would cost less here. Why can't everyone just be happy blink.gif

I thought Best Buy was a big partner with MS on the 360? Why would Compusa get this deal?

Actually I believe the discount has something to do with the fact the main Hub is moving. The CompUSA I worked at, in Mesquite, TX, was the main Internet hub for CompUSA nationwide up until last week. That particular store is closing so a lot of stuff must be moved to its new location about 40 Miles away. I bet they'd rather sell it online with a rebate than pay to ship it to the new Hub's location.

BTW... why does everyone always confuse them with Circuit City??? It must be the RED, I guess people have a hard time looking past it. biggrin.gif

Edit: PS.. just so you know, they have been selling a lot of stuff at this particular store DIRT CHEAP! I bought a $550 Laser Jet for $160 last week. They had two 42 inch HD plasmas for $600 each, but unfotunately I didn't have the money at the time! sad.gif

Why is it more in your country? I haven't openly complained of the price, but I do cringe in private. I might have an extra game or 2 in my collection if it weren't for the $10 price difference in most games. Hey $10 bucks, is $10 bucks, know what I mean. We may be third on the world wealth chart, as one of the previous posters added, but I think many of us, me included, are up to our necks in debt and are cash poor. Just a thought on why many take exception to price reductions elsewhere and a 15% hike in game prices from the previous generation. Costs of goods have risen across the board, but our wages certainly have not.
