if anyone has had any problems with the OS please post the problem and/or fix.

Mine:
-HD upgrade wizard reports error with two different HDs
-recovery does not work both iso and HDD....just reboots to Xenium OS.



I posted in the Newbie Forum accidently, asked them to move it but it hasnt happened yet.

umm it just says error and it asks me if i want to ignore or cancel...if u read the here it will give the whole story.

OS version 2.3.1 with gold chip

Read it... JonBOY's suggestions are all good ones.. You might want to just not bother with the upgrade wizard.. It's nice when it works, but it's clearly not working for you (for whatever reasons). Best way to install a new HDD is to just put it in, jumpered to CS, and run an auto installer disc like slayers 2.6 or AID3. Use that to prep the new drive and copy over the needed stock M$ files, as well as any hacked dashboards you want.

all those files a harsh on 56k. can u answer those questions i have about using a friends modded xbox in that post, if u have the knowledge?? if that will work correctly i will do that then.

CJLee, whats the questions you still want answered? if you list them on the end of your other thread we were working on AppleGuru will have a better idea of what your asking.

As for this thread and its content, my GOLD issue;

- Recovery function does not work from DVD or HDD.
- Something else I noticed but am not concerned about, of the choice of LED colours available during a bios flash, realistically only green and red work. 'Amber' colour defaults to 'green' for example.

With my Xenium ICE installed I can successfully recover the ICEs XOS from both HDD and DVD. If I remove the ICE and mount the GOLD, despite otherwise working perfectly the recovery function just will not work, from HDD or DVD (on what is a proven installation with the ICE).

ok now FTP will not work....it connects and shows the drives (C,E,D,F,X,Y,Z) but when i go click on C drive it comes up as nothing, as if nothing was on the drive. i know there is b/c evox, and XBMC shows that there is. when i FTP through evox, dvd2xbox, or XBMC everything shows up fine.

maybe i have a setting wrong or something??i am using FlashFXP.

so when you FTP in through XOS you don't see any folder contents, but when you FTP in whilst booted to XBMC or another dash you do see folder contents....is that right?

Normally if files don't show up when using FlashFXP its that 'use passive' mode needs to be de-selected and 'list type' needs to be set to default, but if things are working ok with the other dashes then sounds like you've got these settings right, in which case thats very weird........

I'd check both these FlashFXP settings anyways just to make sure.
