New Newb Just Traded Hacked Wii For Hacked 360 Need Help Please Options

Hi there my name is matt and i just traded my friend a wii for his hacked 360. He got it hacked from a guy who owned an ice cream shop about a year ago. So that part sucks cause I dont no if its been flashed or been jtag.
I have hacked the psp iphone wii so not retarded but i cant seem to burn a dvd to work for the 360 or get the xex file on my 360.

All i know about the 360 is that its the older model, has a 60gb hard drive and it can play UFC09 on a Verbatim dvd+r dl. Thats the game he gave me with it. So i tried to put all the games i downloaded to my 500gb external hard drive. Everything worked fine but I couldnt find the XEXloader on my xbox360 when i pluged my hard drive in. So i formatted the hard drive and tried agin with my girl firends lap top. Same thing happen everything went smooth but when i go to my 360 to look for the xexloader its not there.

So instead of getting all mad about the hard drive i just said fuck it and went out a bought some dvd d+r dl, I got the memorex brand. i guess that was a bad move cause everyone on the internet says that brand sucks. But i tryed to burn it with img burn, put speed to 2.4 i changed the layer break to 19913760 like everyone says. Everything seems to work fine but when i put it into my 360 it either says disc unreadable or the xbox360 thing comes up and it plays like a dvd.

So i go out again for the 3rd time and get the verbatim dvd+r DL disc and try everything once again the same shit happens. I even tryed to burn the XEXloader to a dvd but the xbox360 wont read that either.....

Can anyone please help me before i go insane

the problem with the 360 is that the firmware hack is not an on/off scenario.. it evolves, so if as you say the xbox was flashed a year ago then your firmware is not up to date on the 360 drive and you wont be able to play newer games, you will also need a custom firmware on a specific burner (liteon) to burn backups of the latest games (xdg3).

my advice would be to update your firmware on the drive, an as a new firmware (lt 3.0) is about to be released i would wait untill that is released.. in the meantime get yourself a new liteon burner from ebay ready for when your console is updated.. and you should be all set

these are the compatable liteon drives

Don't worry about the Memorex discs, they work fine. I've used up at least 50 or so over the years and only had one coaster.

And for the layer break, don't do it yourself. Use ABGX to check the iso and it will make a .dvd file specifically for your back up then burn the .dvd file with clone cd. Also if it is an old system you shouldn't need to much tools to flash your drive (maybe just an opening tool)
Just be sure what drive you are working with.

edit: SphtKr76 is right, I have used some Memorex for a while and they are not bad dvds, make sure you have a decent burner.

Can anybody help me putting the xexloader on my 360. It wont show up threw my 500gb segate external hard drive.

I would much rather just be able to load my 360 games from my hard drive instead of burning the games.

i burn it to a dvd but then the xbox says disc unreadable, every youtube video just tells me to burn it with imgburn at 2.4 but the xbox still wont read it

And how do i update my drive on the 360?

You cannot run XeXloader on your 360 as it's not a JTAG or RGH. U need to JTAG or RGH it so that the 360 is capable of running Unsigned code.

First you need to know if the box is JTAG (or RGH) or just flashed and I think the easiest way is to open it:
- If there is random wires across the board or under it, small chips on blue or red epoxy cards then it is JTAG 5RGH is too new if that box was "hacked" a while ago)
- If there is nothing different than usual (compare to some pics on google, there is a ton of mobo pics) then most likely you only have a flashed drive.

Now if you want to play from a hdd (and by the same occasion invest time and money), you have 2 options:
- RGH your console (cheap parts but lots of customization and lot of work if you do it yourself)
- ODD system like x360key or Wasabi (more expansive, tho not by a lot, but easier installation and less possibility), you can only play xbox 360 backups (can't remember if those support 1st gen xbox backups)

Also for flashing your drive if you go in that route, look for a giant tutorial on JF website, there is one with EVERYTHING you need to know about flashing drives.

ok well im pretty sure its just flashed, i burnt dirt 1 to a dvd r dl and that worked.

im trying to run gta 4 right now but it just comes up as a dvd. I think its cause im not updated with the firmware. But i tryed to activation.iso to boot it up but that didnt work either.

Is the only option taking the xbox apart and flashing it again.

Note i didnt flash it to begin with i got it from a friend and he has a guy do it for him but that guys gone now.

Does the xbox have an HDMI port? If the answer is no, then you won't be able to do the RGH and your only option is flashing the drive to play backups. There's no way around it though... you need to open the system and flash to the most recent firmware if you want to be able to play newer games. As already stated in this thread, read the jungleflasher tutorial on how to flash your drive, and pick up one of those burners that Alcoholx listed. This special burner will allow you to backup copies of the new XGD3 games, which are higher capacity than normal DVD-DL discs.

will that really let me load new games off my hard drive without flashing? cause 110$ would be worth it to have 500gb of new xbox games. I dont have live or care about online gaming
