If you can use it as a memory key, then I suppose so.

I have either a bad usb stick or i am setting my bios options wrong.
I have a DFI NF4 SLI-DR Expert, and i can find a option for booting usb, so i booted to cmos and chose removerable storage as first boot. is there a tutorial out yet on how to do this. cheers.

There is a 360AutoFlashv2 by geebee with support for VIA chipsets, check over at XH, just search that keyword.

This release is based upon that previous release. If you would have looked at the file, you would have seen that the Via folder exists in this release.

It is intended to use with a pendrive. The large point of the release is not to make a bootable thumbdrive, it is a series of tools combined togeather with a batch set of commands that will make it so you do not have to boot into windows to edit your key. It extracts, patches, and reflashes the firmware all in one go. Simply follow the instructions in the readme, by copying the autoexec, command and firmware folders over, and it will make life much easier on you. Your old method is outdated.

A note to all users: MTKFLASH is not designed to work with all chipsets. Please refer to This thread here to learn if your sata card is compatible or not with this program.

While the release covers the more popular chipsets, we simply cannot add every single edited mtkflash.exe to work with every chipset released ever.

So if you are experiencing errors with mtkflash, you are using the wrong version, or your chipset is not supported. You will have to do more research to find out how to fix the problem if it IS fixable. I had to purchase a VIA 6421L PCI sata card to get this hack to work.

there are threads at xboxhacker.net's forums that discuss editing mtkflash to get it to work with your chipset, IF it is supported. Read up.

I read the Readme in the package, and im still confused unfortunately, i just dont see, i thought that the mtkflash way was easy enough, i think ill stick with that, due to me not really caring about a "easy way" unless my snake can do it for me. pop.gif Still a good tool to host or for anyone to use, looks good to me! ohmy.gif

The main point of this method is that it no longer requires moving the key in Windows, or in fact using kdx at all which is not 100% reliable.

Boot to usb key.
Press the appropriate number.
Done.
Restart XP.
