I was told by someone that you can use a normal wireless usb to connect to xbox live on the 360 is this true

there is one wireless router that can be used to replace the 360 wireless adaptor but you still need a router for the modem

@comradpoplin: I have absolutely NO idea what the hell you just said.

You can't use a USB wireless adapter to connect the Xbox 360 to the Internet UNLESS it's the official wireless one.

You can, however, use any adapter which connects with an ethernet network cable. USB won't work because there are no drivers for it installed in the 360.

no he's saying you can use something like one that linksys makes... its a wireless receiver that outputs to ethernet...

You can NOT use any ethernet adapter (wired or wireless) which plugs into the USB ports on the 360... EXCEPT for the official adapter.

You CAN use a "wireless bridge" or "wireless gaming adapter" which would still plug into the ethernet jack on your 360.

One may use one of 2 things:
1. THE OFFICIAL 360 WIRELESS ADAPTER..plugs into the USB. <--THIS is the ONLY USB adapter that can be used.
2. AN ETHERNET BASED WIRELESS ADAPTER SIMILAR TO THIS ONE.
