I know pc dvd can't read original xbox dvd, but that's not what I'm asking. What happened is that my friend's xbox dvd drive stopped reading discs (all types), but since it is a modded xbox with 200 gig hdd, I'm thinking about reading the burned xbox games using pc and ftp it over to his xbox hdd. Craxtion would extract xbox iso but can not extract any data from the dvd-r, so far I haven't found any utility that do and windows xp can not read copied xbox dvd-r, perhaps because the dvd-r was burned using a craxtion xbox iso and is not a windows compatible format. So if anyone know of an utility that would allow me to dump the xbox game dvd-r data to pc so I can ftp it over, that would be much appreciated, thanks.

hmm if I am not mistaken about this, if your friend used a regular PC dvdrom drive on his xbox, it would not see the original games. HOWEVER supposedly it will see the backup/burned copies so you can play those (and thats more then likely because backup games add the UDF function to the disc). I am almost positive about this. On this site (not forum section) there were tutorials about using a PC drive for certain functions. Go check those. It would save more time and hassle then re-ripping and ftping

The "xISO" app can read Xbox backups using an ordinary PC DVD Drive. Just make sure you keep everything backup-related on the legal side.

I have never had any of these apps be able to actually read the disc structure (aka seeing the files) from an xbox backup (this includes xiso). The pc givs the error message (which I know is BS) and so do the apps that claim they can read an xbox backup disc (it will tell me their is no disc in the drive or give the pc error).

In order to extract them, I have to first make an image file from the disc backup using whatever app I choose (more or less ultraiso). THEN can I use one of the many pc xbox apps (such as qwix, xiso, craxtion, etc) to take the iso image and restore it back to a folder state.
