Ok i have flashed quite a few drives now, including liteon and always use jf. Today for the first time my drive wont flash. When i extract the key (with probe) it wont save the dummy file and keeps telling me im missing some drive specific information and to use dos flash , jf and mtk flash.
Every other drive i hace done including liteon has gone hassle free so any thoughts would be welcome. The drive is also stock if that helps.

get the latest jf it will tell you that its ok with this info missing,microsoft have no longer deemed it necessary to include this info in the firmware so are sending out drives with this info missing( pcb number, laser number) so if its stock then its come from ms without this info so no need to rebuild it.

ok will detail this as much as poss, and am doing it with latest jf
inserted probe and clicked get key
extracted key all matching then gone to save dummy and it comes up with the above problem, so on the advice above i have continued and auto loaded iextreme 1.6
but here is where i get confused as the source and target keys do not match up, is this correct? do i continue?

source and target will never match as one is the dump and one is a blank firmware ,blank will be all 77777s or 0000s ,and source will be your key from liteon.its not for me to tell you to press the mouse but if you have your files saved and the key looks valid then it can be retreived no problem if things go wrong.

also just realise it was firmware 1.51 as it will not or saying cannot open 1.6 for some reason now.

right done it, just had to manually load the firmware and then spoof source to target then carried on as normal. Thanks for the help mate.
