Will someone help me identify the correct way to short or add resistors to disable the analog sticks?

I'm padhacking a DS3 controller as the internals for an arcade stick. Thanks to RDC's excellent coverage I've been able to identify the board as MSU_V3.5X 1.14.

The RetroArch emulator frontend uses L3 and R3 for menu access during gameplay. I can use COM3, TP26 and TP27 respectively with a couple momentary push buttons to make this happen.

So, two options.
Option 1 (easy), duplicate L3 and R3 with instructions similar to http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=4859214.

Option 2 (clean), desolder the analog sticks. Smaller circuit board == more space in box

I think I'll need to solder a resistor for each POT yet I'm unsure which points exactly. For each POT I see continuity between GND and VCC and each POLE. Admittedly I have searched for this information yet have had little luck. I'm very handy with a soldering iron and multimeter yet still learning general electronics debugging.

MSU_V3.5X 1.14 (credit to RDC's exceptional resource)

Never short anything on purpose, unless you know exactly what you're shorting and are prepared to ruin whatever you're working on.

You don't need to do anything there with that Hall Sensor type Stick, just remove them and that's it.

Excellent feedback, thanks a lot RDC. I'll post a couple pictures here after I finish the mod. I would have had a much more difficult time w/o your help identifying the right common lines and points for L3/R3.

Cheers!
