When you cut a window in a dvd drive, do you need plexi to cover it up or can you just leave it open?

Plexi isn't needed on the drive it self, but is reccomended on the case.

yeah, as he said it isn't needed, but i'd recommend it to keep dust out or anything else. say some1 gets a water pistol and sprays it in ur xboxes general direction, u don't want it going in the drive do ya?

dodgy example, but it proves my point

And if it is alternatives that you are looking for there is alwasy lexan, or making your own dvd cover and then just using mesh for the case.
