Hiya,

I can FTP to my xbox fine, but not the internet. Looked on the guides and through the forum but still having trouble, so if anybody can help that would be great.

My xbox is connected to my laptop via a crossover cable, which wirelessly connects to my linksys DSL modem/router to the internet.

I have been playing with the XBMC settings but still can't get it connect.

heres my info:
Static Xbox IP: 192.168.0.2
LAN Static PC IP: 192.168.0.1
Wireless Static PC IP: 192.168.1.64
Wireless gateway: 192.168.1.1
Wireless primary DNS: 212.67.120.148

Can anyone give me a hand cause I would really like the whether and other stuff.

Cheers

you cannot just like that share your wireless connection from your
laptop trough a crossover cable to the xbox. not possible.

You must use a standard cable from your router to the xbox.

Sorry, wrong answer. I used to have my xbox connected like this, and I know many other people do. You have 2 options which you need to look into yourself:

1. ICS(Internet Connection sharing).
2. Bridge Connections.

Both of these can be a bit of a hassle to set-up, but once you've got it going it works fine.

Nice one I thought it was a bit weird that you couldn't get it conected through a crossover cable.

I'll look into both of those tommorow, when I'm a bit more awake

Which would you recommend as being the easiest?

And if anybody who has tried these methods can give me any pointers/help that would be greatly apreciated.

Cheers
