Newbie here.excuse my english. I have a 360, which I experimented on opening, I opened that white thing which leads the hot air to the exhaust, placed two fans on the gpu (one slanted position) and I placed the dvd drive outside. (since the power connector is short, I could only put it on top of the 360). I couldnt place bigger fans including the cpu heatsink because of small space. Now when I put everything back, It's working properly but the problem is I dont feel the fans on the back releasing air like before. Is this because the other fan I placed is slanted and it disrupts the airflow? Did I do the right thing, did I improve the cooling? Thank you very much.

by adding the fans you added and assuming more cooling, which means the rear fan does not have to work as hard. The other thing is with the console open you have increased the and disrupted the air flow, the only true way to tell is to take temperature readings before and after using an IT thermometer

I didn't let it open, I closed the case and removed the silver thin metal on the upper part. I would have let it open but IMO its more prone to accidental spills, moisture, etc. and the short dvd power connector is preventing me from doing so. Sorry I don't have an IT thermometer. And also I was using an Intercooler TS before and allthroughout it was open, and releasing hot air. now that I've done this the intercooler TS will be open for 10mins?? or so and then it will turn off. Also The air it is releasing became less hotter so I just removed the intercooler TS. Sorry I don't have an IT thermometer, and I'm just relying on basic tools and materials. anyway, thanks!

well what i would do would be to move the slanted fan to the front of the cpu heatsink to push air through it. an i would then move the other fan directly on top of the gpu heatsink. Do you have 9v or 12v fan mod?

Yes I thought of a fan directly on the cpu heatsink but the problem is the x360 case. I have to close the case because the dvd drive will be put on top of the xbox. (I don't have the longer power cable wire). I don't have the 12v or 9v fan mod. and I added a fan, I cut a core 2 duo fan and placed it beside the 2 fans. BTW the small fan is still slanted. thanks

I dont think the slanted fan will fit in the front of the cpu.. but it may.. if not you could get a smaller fan an screw it into the front of the cpu heatsink to push the air through it. if You did the 12v fan mod an keep those fans in there should keeep it cool,

I can do the 12v mod in this source., and I also use this as the other fan's source. Question is up to how many fans can this power source handle? thanks.

Now I've done it, installed the fans and the 12v mod. to answer my question the power source I was asking about can handle up to 1500ma. the air it blows now is not hot, not cold.

I've got one last question about the elevation of the xbox.. is it right to elevate it this way?

To be honest lifting your console doesn't make much difference. If the top and ends have room then you wont need to elevate it.
