Hello all..

I got a Slim with a 16D4S FW: 0225 (MXIC) drive and cut the trace, was able to get the Dummy.bin and key from it and then the drive just died.. for no reason, it gets no power at all..

anyways, I got an other drive 16D4S FW: 9504 (Winbond), **(which I was able to get the key from with out the USB to SATA trick using my VIA controller)

So what I need to do is place the 16D4S FW: 9504 Winbond drive in the Slim now. I have the Kamakazi Kit here also...

Whats the best way to do this. (also the Slim is RGH already)... So do I just read the Firmware on the Winbond drive and then when it goes to create the LT 3.0 for it, do I put the Key from the MXIC drive in the LT firmware and then write it. ?

Do I need to change the drive using J-Runner and patch the NAND to reflect a new drive FW model ?

Thanks in advanced

use your dummy from the 0225 drive and create 0225 cfw.
intro and powercycle the new 9504 drive
get 0x72 and 0x00 on the spi
write the 0225 , your new 9504 drive now becomes the correct 0225 drive.
the key from the 9504 is of no use to you, so dumping that was pointless.
if its a true 9504 drive then it will have a unlocked 0x00 spi
and you can write to it no problem.
However if its a 9504 thats had a dash update it may be a 0272 and locked 0x8c
and will need unlocking with kamikazi or sputnik.

Thanks Boneym.

Ya the 9504 has been updated and locked spi (so its reading as a 0272 (I will kamakazi it)

So when I write the LT 3.0 (created from 0225 Dummy.bin) it will change the 9504 (0272) to a 0225.
no need to patch the nand or anything else correct ?

Thanks again

correct, all slim liteons hardware is the same, writing fw converts each drive to what
is written to them, just the same way as phat liteons,
so your 9504/0272 written with 0225 fw is indeed a 0225 drive now.

Im back.. finally got around to doing the Kamakazi on the 9405 drive (JF shows it as 0272)

I made cfw 0225 (originally what was in the SLIM) LT3.0 flashed the drive and put it in the Slim,

Takes a few reboots before it will read games. most of the time it says "PLAY DVD"

*so to recap, 16D4S 0225 was the original drive in the SLIM (drive is dead)
* replacement drive I have is 16D4S 9405 (JF reports 0272)

1) should I make a cfw 0272 and then flash
2) should I make a cfw 0225 and then flash
2) do I use the LTPlus-0xxx-v3.0u.bin or the version with out the letter "u"

??????

Thanks

You always flash with what the console thinks it should have. 0225u is for drives that say 9405 on the label, but are factory-flashed as 0225.

Flash as a normal with LTPlus-0225-v3.0.bin

I flashed the 9405 with LTPlus-0225-v3.0.bin and like I stated, it says "Play DVD" with originals and backups.
if I reboot a few times it will say "Play Game" and show the game icon that is in the drive and it works perfect.

but again its random...

the drive works perfectly fine in the original SLIM it came out of.
