I've got the Philips 32pf9830 HDTV and a modded Xbox. Is it possible for me to get 480p or even 720p signals from my Xbox to the Philips HDTV, by using the MS Advanced RGB Scartcable? Or do I need the component Xbox cable, like the Monster GameLink Xbox to Component AV Cable?

Specs Philips HDTV: http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/televisions/0,39...49254836,00.htm

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Xystus - I am pretty damn certain that you can ONLY achieve 720p or 1080i resolutions with an xbox if you have the component cable... and I can't personally testify that a non-M$ one works but it should.

The advanced RGB scart just gives you that - RGB Scart and Optical audio out. A good lead but just not enough.

Alright, thanks. Pretty strange MS never promoted the component cable; almost all xbox games support 480p, dus nobody knows blink.gif

In fact, MS didn't want HDTV in the PAL regions although techniqually there is no reason for that. Hence, RGB-Scart in HighDef is just disabled and in PAL mode Progressive Scan is disabled anyway. If they had wanted it they could even have made every game progressive, even those for any reason not supporting it on their own.
