Hi, I have a pre-modded xbox 360 and had to replace the internal XCM fan because it was making a lot of noise, after I replaced it and closed my xbox up I found that my disc tray closes for a few seconds then opens again no matter what cd is in. Even when I shut off the console during the seconds of it being closed it will eject the tray, then turn off. Whats up with that?

I removed my dvd-rom to see if I can see the problem and I found a flimsy little red wire that looks like should be soldered somewhere but I don't know where? Can anyone help me? pic of wire: http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?f...=0&inline=1

There are two wires there. Both come from the dvd-rom, one goes from the rom to, I think the power button. The other one has been disconnected from somewhere.

I replaced the internal fan and that wire must have been soldered poorly cause I just noticed that it was disconnected. Do you have the same type of wire in your box? If so where does it go to from the rom

i have the same rom as you and i dont have any wires like that on my mobo. i only have one in my rom. maybe whoever modded it for you opened the drive and didn't reassembel it properly, causing that wire to get caught when you opened the drive to insert a disc. contact where ever you got your box maybe they will help.
