well i just got this 360 that was supposed to have a rrod and so i plug it in to see. it turns on but only the power button in the center lights up. dvd drive ejects and closes, fans turn on and i can even get the sync to work although once it connects to a controller it really doesnt sync.controller will just blink and still just power light on xbox.power supply light is green. its a falcon board and im using the cables from my other falcon board which work for that system and so are fine.

i tried the xclamp fix and even tried replacing the xclamps and i cant get it to do anything really. pressing the sync and eject dont do anything either although dvd drive cant eject so i know the sync being pressed it working. it does get to overheat and the power brink turns yellow but still no lights on rf board. so i used a rf board from a hdmi model and it doesnt light up anything but fans turn on when power button is pressed.

everything looks fine on the board, caps, traces etc. ideas???? cant seem to find anyone with info on no video, sound and rol

The same thing happened to my xbox when I accidentally unplugged the video cord from the back. Everything would turn on, drive would open, and sync would "work" and then just flash after it synced like yours is. I finally realized the video cord had come out the back and plugged it back in and it worked fine. If I were you, I would troubleshoot the video port. It's probably not making a connection with the motherboard for some reason.

i just made a thread about having no video

everything i read said it was equivalent to a RROD and needs an xclamp replacement to get it working again

after i did an xclamp replacement i'm getting new errors sad.gif hopefully you have better luck

cost me a total of $35 for the supplies (torx screwdrivers, arctic silver, screws and washers, canned air to clean it all out, etc etc)

pretty upsetting i'm getting new errors sad.gif might have to go get a heat gun now

I suggest taking a look at the XBOX360 Southbridge.
It's usually a chip with a circular silvery XBOX360 sticker on it.
All controller/RF action goes though there, so it's the most likely cause for your problems.

Either the southbridge is dead, or it has some cold solder joints acting up.
I suggest heatgunning it and try to boot the thing again.

put the xclamps back on and still nothing. this console doesnt have hdmi so i cant test that.

although now my buddies 360 is doing the checkerboard thing and just for kicks i put his rf board on mine and i can actually get error codes 0020 or 0022 depending on its mood. although the other 2 i tried didnt work yet they do on his. i dont get that but at least its going some where...
