Well damn! I thought I have fixed the encoding engine error. I will look into it more, thanks. Also I'm almost positive you got the Runtime Error 13, because of the encoding engine error.
I'm not sure what you are saying here.. Did you have soundtracks before you used VXCR?
Well, I never claimed it would rebuild the ST.DB.. I claimed it could create a new one from scratch. But if you say that it corrupted your ST.DB, you could send it to me in an email and I can try to fix it. vxcr.xcel(at)gmail.com
Woah wait a second. How about I iron out all the bugs before I implement more features. smile.gif  ..But none the less, I'll jot that down.
Also, I'm looking into all the other bugs that were posted as well.
*

Well, to be more precise, its more like it wiped out my ST.DB file. it was a little corrupted (230MB ST.DB) but it worked nice. I thought the program could look at my tracks and build the ST.DB from what it saw, even if I had to re name the albums thats no biggie. I think this would be an awesome feature if thats not a feature in this release like I was led to believe. Not your fault I spoze but my heart sank when i lost all my ST.DB... Keep trying, im sure you'll nail it sooner or later. who knows. I might even get my ST.DB back when the bugs are ironed out.

On I side note i also get a pile of errors and crashes

UnleashX latest, XP SP2, xbox 1.0

Side note: would it be easyer for now to create a program that would take a bunck of folders of MP3's and prepare them to an appropriate format and directory structure, Possibly allow you to name the albums or songs, build an ST.DB file then allow you to upload it manually via FTP

Hey, ignore my messages about the one song not working or showing up. It was a WMA file and I didn't have WMA checked off in settings, and since it is WMA, it didn't need to be converted. BUT, it still doesn't play when I hit Play in Virtual Xbox CD Ripper.

EDIT: Alright. The first song in the list now plays the second to last song (the song before the last) and the old first song that didn't work before now works.

Also, my first song is "The Beatles - A Little Help from my Friends"

In the MSDash, it says "The Beatles - A Little Help1582..." and then it gets cut off, so something is wrong there.

The way the program works is that it connects to the xbox and downloads the ST.DB file into a temporary file. Then it opens that temporary file and starts to load in the header information, after that it loads up the soundtrack information thats in the header. After that it builds these things called SongGroups where the information of the songs are stored. So as you can see by that, it has nothing to do with the files. All that happens is that from the ID of the song converted to Hex is the name of the file.

Lol there should be no numbers there, don't know what its doing, but when I get home I'll try some songs with long filenames. Like I said, there shouldn't be any numbers, it should just cut it off.

Ok, well would it be hard to make the program backup the existing st.db, then re-create it using the the folders and files in the music folder. I really dont mind having to name the albums again. but re-uploading them would be a mini mightmare for me. (if it aint broke don't fix it... or it might break bigtime grr.gif when will i ever learn to leave things alone)

Lol, funny that you should mention that. No it doesn't but v0.0.3 Beta 2 will fix that.

Okay, thanks for the heads up. I'll go get a copy of UIX and try to see if I can find out what the problem is. smile.gif

Okay Wolf, I found out the problem. It's because that UIX has the weirdest directory structure I've ever seen on an FTP. Now I see how it works though, so I will try to implement it into the program.

Okay since I can't edit my old post I have to make a new one. Bad news, support for UIX won't be implemented. Atleast, for awhile, until I get all the bugs worked out. This is because for some odd reason, if I create a new soundtrack in XBMC and upload some songs, and then disconnect. Then go into UIX and connect, it doesnt read in the ST.DB at all, it just creates a new one. Then when you go back into XBMC you still have the blank one. sad.gif ...So give me some time and I'll figure it out, but for now just use another dash please. Because this won't be in the next release. Thanks.

Hi, Thanks for the quick response, i know the ftp thing is wierd its really buggy to configure if u wait to the next release (who knows when) the problem might fix itself. If you need help with the UIX code i suggest talking to Jbone the head develper.

#teamuix on efnet

but yah i'll just use my other dashes untill then...

the program is great though i just got a samsung but it still doesn't read cdrs so this is great. thanks

Okay well it wasnt anything to do with UIX because I think that I can do it, it was that I accidently somehow commented out the code to read the ST.DB file upon connect, so expect UIX support by v0.0.5 at the latest. smile.gif
