Hey guys,

This may sound odd, but I have a modded xbox with a 120GB HD, high speed cable access, but no PC (my roommate has one but its in the shop right now). Is it possible to load up linux onto the HD and access the net without a PC. The tutorial discusses obtain your PC's IP, SUBNET MASK and GATEWAY.

thanks.

Yes, you don't need a PC. Just give it and IP and GATEWAY (your router) or do DHCP. Linux on an Xbox is just like Linux on a PC. There is no need for another PC. However currently there is no good way to access FATX; the xbox HD partitions so if you DL xbox apps or games you will not be able to put them on your hd and run them.

Mandrake 9 (in my opinion) is the lease painful to install and network config is simple in KDE.
