Ok here is the Deal I orders a xenium s with a hd that supposedly evo preloaded and other apps as well

http://www.modchipstore.com/product_16185_...rive_Combo.html

I flashed the bios and created a 1mb file. it said that the file was loaded successfully but I never saw a loading screen or anything like that off my xenium os 1.0

so I tried to connect the hd with evo preloaded but it when I power it back up. it tries to load the xenium screen then acts like it is looking for a boot disk then shuts down and powers back up 3 times then a blue screen and thats it.

anythoughts? is this a bios or HD issue?

You typically don't see a loading screen, it flashes pretty fast. Make sure you remove the bios disc before rebooting. Sometimes it'll lock up with the disc in the drive (rarely)

I'd suggest removing your new HD for now.

Test your chip to make sure you can get into the OS. Go to the EEPROM/Disk Tools menu and UNLOCK your retail HD. This is important.

Also create a backup of your EEPROM while you're in there, you'll see it.

Once completed, retry the new HD.

I dunno why you got a pre loaded HD, it's much easier to just upgrade and install it on your own. I always thought you couldn't ship pre-loaded HDs anway...?

Thanks I will give that whirl,

thanks again you all have been really helpful from get go. I am finding out what I thought was "money well spent" doesnt seem to be. Its much easier to follow a tut then having to add parts or take parts out of it because the situation not the same. If I would have just gone out and done it the normal way I think I might have been done by now.

just wanted to say thanks! and I really appreciate the help! it seems to be a huge adventure.

No the clock is is set in the MS Dashboard. It could cause issues, but highly unlikely that's the problem.
