Nope. no GTA version on the XBox EVER. Sony bought exclusivity rights.

There will not be any gta on xbox unless someone ports the pc game like they did with quake.

PC GTA3 needs something we like to call WINDOWS. No way you can just "copy the files to the HD and play from there" dry.gif

Porting requires knowledge and skillz, personally, im not into it, so i dont know.

Crash bandicoot was a sony exclusive.. RE: Code Veronica was a Dreamcast exclusive (Code Veronica X for PS2 is apparently a brand new game).. There really isnt truly exclusive liscensing anymore, the game co's of old learned not to get into this mess in the olden days.. On top of that, laws have changed disallowing certain 'exclusive' contracts. (Back when big N sued Capcom for releasing a Rockman (megaman) title for genesis)

At best theres an agreement to leave GTA3 where it is for now, and considering theres no real financial incentive to creating an xbox port, I'm sure they're fine with it.

I wouldnt be surprised to see GTA4 or 5 for xbox one day.. I'm sure by then the franchise will be completely stale and lifeless, and we'll all be hyping the latest flavor of the month.

Porting takes more than 'knowledge and skillz', it takes a little something called the original source code. It would be much easier to write a brand new GTA3 'clone' than it would be to convert the PC version to run on xbox. (convert would be the right word, not port)

ok, cali asked a stupid question, but he really didn't ask a stupid idea. Most of you seem to be forgetting xbox is intel based. so instead of porting gta3 to xbox, what you'd really be doing is writing an pc emulator for the xbox. I haven't looked at the sdk, but I'm guessing it's based on a derivative of directX.

Not saying it would be easy, but would be interesting.
