I just updated my eeprom. Got a virgin eeprom and virgin HDD. Everyhting works great. I got online, got a 2 month trial and created a new tag. I've been playing good for 2 days now. I want my original XBL tag thats on my other (Stock Retail) XBOX. Can i just copy the xbl file on a memory card and toss it in my MOD box? Or will that result in problems and a ban? I also thought instead of doing that i would account recover my XBL tag. Cause when you do that a message pops up saying.


"Only the information on this XBOX will be valid"

Would that marry my virgin eeprom and HD serial key with my old GT? Which method is best to do and is it possible at all? Thanks in advance.

Also should I keep E:/ as empty as possible when using XBL or is this not necessary? (Meaning only leaving the 3 primary folders)

The three primary folders are CACHE, TDATA, and UDATA, right?

And some think they are scanning hard drives, some don't. I personally don't because if they did that, it would take a while to log on. I put all my files on F anyways since I have a 250 gig, but it doesn't matter IMO.

yeah your right ok i'll just keep my fingers cross about the whole thing. What about my account recovery thing? Whats your thoughs on that?

Also i notice that dvd2xbox put a folder "Games" on my E partition. (All my games save to F:/) I deleted it but will this result in any complications as far as xbox live is concerned? i've read you should keep C and E Stock.

That message you get when doing account recovery means that any copy of your live account residing on any other Xbox won't work. It's a security feature - if someone copies your account at a LAN party, once you do account recovery on your Xbox, that other person can no longer use your account.

I don't think it matters whether you do account recovery or memory card.

Live accounts have nothing to do with EEPROMs and HDs, except that if you use a flagged account, M$ will check the HD size of every Xbox you use it in.

Have you been banned while using that account? if so, when you use it on your upgraded xbox, you will get that xbox banned because the account has been flagged.

I did get a eeprom banned with my tag but that was 1 year ago. when XBL 2.0 first came out. Were they flagging back then? and how long til a flag wears off.

I can't think of a reason why M$ would make the flags wear off. I don't know when they started flagging.

That explains why i just got banned again i put a new unbanned eeprom with a 30 gig hard drive after getting banned on my original hard drive and 1 day later im banned i havent even put my chip back in after flashing the eeprom so i know it wasnt the chip

I guess they are scanning for a bigger hard drive the sad thing is i have 2 xbox oem seagate hard drives but i cant use them because there locked. If i only knew they where banning for a bigger hard drive i would have never tried it.


DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO UNLOCK A RETAIL XBOX SEAGATE DRIVE WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL EEPROM??? I HAVE 2 OF THEM AND HAVE 1 VIRGIN EEPROM LEFT TO USE.

YEah i want to wipe it out and use it then just reformat it and lock it again on a xbox with a new eeprom

why do you ask can i unlock it in my pc for pc use without the original eeprom?

if its a stock xbox HDD. u should be able to install Evox (use the auto installer) u can get it from the usual places. Evox auto installer actually Formats the drive and then u can use config magic to lock and unlock the drive. Also use it to put in the new EEPROM. Now u need to make sure that everything is virgin. the HDD and EEPROM MUST HAVE NEVER BEEN ONLINE. do that and you should be ok. And my suggestion is use a Unflagged gamertag. For 2-3 weeks to see if everything went good. once it does put the flagged one in there. and if all it's doing is checking the size of the HDD since it's stock you should be fine. But everything Needs to be Virgin.

And i just though u wanted to use the HDD on your PC not the xbox.
